36’ers Update

Adelaide 36’ers

The Adelaide 36’ers have confirmed 3 players so far into their team. One of them being Jamar Wilson who has agreed to play for the Adelaide 36’ers this season but his contract for only this one season. It is expected he shall be back though! The second player being Peter Crawford also accepting the offer for one season but he too, is expected to be back! Last but not least we have Luke Schenscher who has grasped the offer for a one year contract with the Adelaide 36’ers. That’s all the news for the Adelaide 36’ers so far but I’m certain there is more to come!

Tigers Update

Melbourne Tigers

The big news and the only news confirmed so far is that the “Melbourne Tigers” no longer exist. Well…… At least not the name. The “Melbourne Tigers” have officially changed their name to “Melbourne United”! Some are extremely angry and frustrated but others are happy!!!! I personally am frustrated towards this decision but that’s just me!!

The main purpose to this decision was that ever since the classical teams like the Geelong Supercats, etc.  etc. left from the NBL,  all of the fans just left and didn’t go to the remaining team, the Melbourne Tigers. After many years of a lack of supporters the Melbourne Tigers manager thought up an idea and said: Hey! What about if we change the name to “Melbourne United” and then all of the Melbourne fans will go to this team! And for a matter of fact, it worked! Thousands of fans have joined and Melbourne United are going to use Hisense arena (Which holds 10, 500 people in total) so that will be plenty of space! Oh and yes, that’s JUST the Melbourne Tigers.

The ending of the NBL

Well folks that’s the end for the NBL. Between the Perth Wildcats and the Adelaide 36ers the first game at Perth was won by Perth. The second game at Adelaide was won by Adelaide and 3rd game at Perth was won by Perth. That means that the Perth Wildcats have won the NBL Championship for the 6th time. I’m hoping to hear from everyone about the NBL season and have many discussions with you. -Thanks

NBL Grand final

The Perth Wildcats won against the Wollongong Hawks twice in a row in the best out of three semi-final. At Perths home ground the Perth Wildcats won 91-79 and at Wollongongs home ground it was 61-80 Perths win. Adelaide vs Melbourne Adelaide won the first game 101-85 and in the second game Melbourne won 98-87 and in the 3rd game Adelaide won 102-63. That now means that Perth and Adelaide are in the grand final best out of three.

NBL finals time at last!

Well, well, well. Finally the time has come for the NBL championship finals. In first place we have the Perth Wildcats, really no surprise there. From round No. 1 the Perth Wildcats have been on top of the ladder just winning their games 21-7 (21 wins and 7 loses) With a total of 28 games. Amazing really if you ask me, but I guess they’re just that sort of team. The Adelaide 36ers being the team in 2nd place on the ladder have had quite a season. Having end results of 18-10 they had a good season. No. 3 on the ladder are the Melbourne Tigers having end results of 15-13 which are pretty even results. Lastly but not least, are the Wollongong Hawks. In the last game of their season they decide to pull out a win whilst Sydney (The team in 4th place before Wollongong Hawks) having a loss. So the teams that will be participating in the finals are officially decided. The Perth Wildcats will be playing first off the Wollongong Hawks to fight for the grand final, and the Melbourne Tigers and Adelaide will be fighting as well for the grand final. A great season for the NBL.
